Artist's Description

This large painting is on sand tells the story of a young slave girl, preparing to Wade on the Water, take a leap of faith, and run. In the moonlight we see supportive figures around her clapping in a Shout Ring. Her dress becomes one with the water as she enters. Making herself one with the night is her pathway to freedom.
