Description
Have you ever noticed how some art work never gets old and seems to, dare I say it, almost be alive? I purchased a painting called \\\\\\\"Rainbow Gulch\\\\\\\" by Gert Palmer at an art auction on Tybee back when I first moved here 12 years ago. I had already seen and fallen in love with Gert\\\\\\\'s paintings of life in the low country. This painting was of some place in the Southwest so seemed an odd choice to bid for, but I was drawn to do so, and I was the highest bidder. Once I brought the painting home, then came the dilemna of where to put it. It ended up in my master bathroom above my big bathtub. Since I am an inveterate \\\\\\\"long soaker\\\\\\\" in the colder part of the year, I ended up spending long periods of time gazing at this painting. That is when I began to notice there was something different about it. It never seemed the same twice. I always felt I somehow had entered the painting and was actually walking down that path. I kept seeing things anew each time. This phenomenon continues to this day. I have other paintings I love, but none that I had this experience with. Go figure. There is magic in this world!

Thank you Angie. This image resurfaced after going home with a patron 10 years ago. When I ran into them out of the blue on my morning walk, she agreed to send a photo. Not my typical subject, it is one of only two canyon scenes I have ever painted. I'm glad you like it and appreciate your taking time to tell me I want to invite you to join our group Truck Stop. Your marvelous photos will be a perfect addition. warm regards, Gert
