Thank you Angie. This image resurfaced after going home with a patron 10 years ago. When I ran into them out of the blue on my morning walk, she agreed to send a photo. Not my typical subject, it is one of only two canyon scenes I have ever painted. I'm glad you like it and appreciate your taking time to tell me I want to invite you to join our group Truck Stop. Have you ever noticed how some art work never gets old and seems to, dare I say it, almost be alive? I purchased a painting called \\\\\\\"Rainbow Gulch\\\\\\\" by Gert Palmer at an art auction on Tybee back when I first moved here 12 years ago. I had already seen and fallen in love with Gert\\\\\\\'s paintings of life in the low country. This painting was of some place in the Southwest so seemed an odd choice to bid for, but I was drawn to do so, and I was the highest bidder. Once I brought the painting home, then came the dilemna of where to put it. It ended up in my master bathroom above my big bathtub. Since I am an inveterate \\\\\\\"long soaker\\\\\\\" in the colder part of the year, I ended up spending long periods of time gazing at this painting. That is when I began to notice there was something different about it. It never seemed the same twice. I always felt I somehow had entered the painting and was actually walking down that path. I kept seeing things anew each time.This p...

Fine artist, designer & illustrator, Gertrude Palmer signs her paintings simply "Gert". As a young fashionista she received the In Vivo Design Award for a collection of ethnic ski wear, the first fabricated in natural materials. This launched her own junior boutique line under the label of In Vivo. However her yearning for immersion in fine art called to her. Introduced to stone lithography in High School at celebrated New Trier, North of Chicago, she continued studies under Lyle Matouche (master printer for Karl Tobey) found at Southern Oregon University where she produced political and feminist works from 1979 � 1983.
